What We're All About
How Old Pueblo Property Recovery Started and Why:
Old Pueblo Property Recovery was originally started as a response to the many issues felt throughout Tucson as a homeowner. Over the years, Lucas and Joe have faced the on-going homelessness crisis first hand both professionally and in their personal homes - being local Tucsonans.
By opening O.P.P.R. they have dedicated themselves to answer to this crisis in a way that actually responds to the Home owners needs in a quick and effect way, while still taking the time to support and have passion for those experiencing homelessness.
Every individual who is removed from any property will be provided with comprehensive information regarding local shelters and food banks.
Additionally, they will receive a wellness bag containing essential items such as socks, sunscreen, blankets, and other basic necessities that are crucial for individuals experiencing homelessness. Furthermore, we will provide transportation to any shelter they may require.
With over 12 years of combined experience in real estate and property/community management, Lucas and Joe possess extensive knowledge of the risks associated with property ownership and renting in the Tucson metro area, including the growing issue of squatting. The recent surge in homelessness has led to a significant increase in squatting incidents, and the Tucson Police Department is unable to adequately address the problem due to limited resources.
Lucas and Joe's background in security, community, and property management equips them with the necessary skills to safely and effectively remove squatters and prevent their reentry. The potential damage caused by squatters can result in significant financial losses, ranging from several hundred to tens of thousands of dollars.
During their tenure in property management, Lucas and Joe have encountered a wide range of challenging situations, including drug addicts who accidentally burned down a house while using torches to abuse drugs, copper theft involving the removal of wiring and plumbing from walls for recycling and resale, and even the discovery of a brothel operating out of a vacant triplex.
Lucas and Joe are both passionate about keeping the community safe and ensuring each individual experiencing homelessness is treated with compassion, and hope to continue to be involved in the community as O.P.P.R. grows!
